  • Exclusive use of all spaces for Saturday and Sunday weddings begins at 8:00 AM the day of your event and ends at 12:00 midnight. Friday weddings have use of the facility from 8:00 AM — 5:00 PM on Thursday as well as 8:00 AM — 12:00 midnight on Friday. Guest departure and all wedding party shall leave the facility with all personal belongings by 12:00 midnight. Decorations, vendor items, and rentals will also need to be scheduled for removal prior to 12:00 midnight.

  • A ceremony rehearsal time is guaranteed on the Thursday prior to your wedding. Times are scheduled on a first-come, first-serve basis after 5:00 PM in the evening for Saturday and Sunday weddings for one hour. For Friday weddings your rehearsal will take place sometime betwween 8 am - 5 pm on the Thursday prior to your wedding.

  • Animals are allowed indoors during your event, however, they must be monitored at all times. If you would like to include your pet in your ceremony or for pictures, they can remain outside, on a leash, and must be monitored at all times. You must pre-arrange for an animal caretaker when booking the venue.

  • The Galena parking lot accommodates 90 cars. The Cedar Rapids parking lot accommodates 50 cars. We have overflow parking on the street.

    Please note that it can be difficult for large buses and limos to pull directly in front of the building at both locations. Please keep this in mind when booking your transportation.

  • Yes, we love candles! All candles are fine and can be lit. However, we highly encourage not lighting taper candles, because of how they burn and the mess they can cause. We will discuss more about this in your planning meetings. Sparklers are allowed outdoors for a sparkler sendoff. Cold sparkle machines and fog machines are allowed indoors from a licensed and insured vendor.

  • We do have some! We don’t allow clients to staple, tape, or nail anything to the walls. You cannot add any vinyl graphics to our floors or walls. We do allow non-helium filled balloons for arches and backdrops, but we do not allow helium filled balloons. We do allow large flower, petals to be sprinkled down the aisle, but nothing smaller than a large flower petals. No rice, dried flowers, confetti or poppers, inside or outside.

  • Yes. We offer soft drinks and other non-alcoholic bar standards (i.e. club soda, tonic water, and juice).

OUTSIDE VENDORS

  • Yes! At Ashton Hill Farm, you’re allowed to use any vendors you wish. However, one of the things that we excel at is helping our clients choose vendors that will be a good fit for them, are available on their wedding date, and fit their budget. This is called a vendor selection process and we go through this in your first planning meeting. The only restriction we have on vendors is that DJs are insured and Caterers are licensed and insured. We also require that caterers remain at the venue for dinner service as well as clean up the kitchen space after they are finished.

  • In your first planning meeting, we will take you through the vendor selection process to help match you with vendors that will meet your needs.

ACCOMMODATIONS

  • Each venue has different offerings for hotels and transportation, but both venues have a lot of options! Please see the Cedar Rapids Accommodations and Galena Accommodations webpages for more information. We have multiple hotels close to each venue that can provide a great overnight accommodation for your guests. Both venues also have access to independent transportation companies if you want your guests to be transported to and from the venue. During your first planning meeting, we can discuss the options that would work best for you!

CONTRACTS & PAYMENTS

  • We do not hold dates on a tentative basis. A deposit and contract is needed to secure your date. Please be advised that our calendar fills quickly. To see if a date is available please check our calendar under "availability". If a date says "reserved" it is no longer available.

  • An initial payment to 50% of your venue rental cost is due upon signing the contract. The other 50% venue rental fee is due 6 months before your event. The final dessert & beverage costs will be paid 2 weeks prior to your event.

  • Please keep in mind that once we have committed to working with you and take a date off of our calendar, you’re committed to us as well! We know things happen in life that can’t be avoided, but your deposit is nonrefundable. There are certain situations where we can allow you to move your date if we can rebook your current date, but that’s never a guarantee.
